Hardcastle Amenity Ltd, a Yorkshire based, family business, run by two brothers Simon & Richard Hardcastle.
For three generations our family businesses have always focused, one way or another, on enhancing, maintaining and preserving landscapes. Hardcastle Amenity Ltd was established to merge our separate business ventures and unify the range of skills and expertise our staff hold within one Company.
Where it all began - Our timeline
1960's
F. W. Hardcastle founded a large landscaping concern within leeds after a life working within Farming.
1970's
Glenn Hardcastle, brought up within his fathers landscaping business then diversified into Golf Greekeeping, Amenity Sales, finally founding Glenn Hardcastle Sportsground Contractors.
1980’s
Simon & Richard Hardcastle were subsequently brought up within GreenKeeping owing to their fathers career interest.
1990’s
This led Simon to persue his own career in Green Keeping and latterly in Amenity Sales & Advise much like Glenn.
2000’s
Meanwhile, Richard broke the trend forging a career in Railway Engineering before changing career after returning from a life in North America to join forces with Glenn within the family Sportsground Contracting business.
2010’s
Finally Simon too joined the family business. Richard and Simon saw an opportunity to transfer their experience, knowledge and skills served within the sports turf industry into the domestic lawncare market, Green Fingers Lawncare was born.

Richard Hardcastle
Owner/Director
Richard joined the family Sportsground Contracting business with his father after establishing an early career in Railway Engineering. Due to the short seasonality windows for sportsturf renovation, Richard saw the opportunity to transfer this knowledge and experience into a new market, domestic lawncare. Richard founded Green Fingers Lawncare, and latterly our paving cleaning division. Along with his fantastic team of employees Richard continues to grow all our business divisions building on continued success.
Simon Hardcastle
Owner/Director
Simon started his career in golf greenkeeping, working up to a deputy head position at Sandmoor Golf Club. Simon then moved on to occupy a more technical sales and agronomy role with one of the world’s leading fertiliser manufacturers covering the whole north of England. Simon was responsible for generating fertiliser and product treatment programs to some of the country’s top sporting venues. Simon Directs the busines alongside Richard.
Glenn Hardcastle
Retired founder Of Hardcastle Amenity (Formerly Trading as Glenn Hardcastle Sportsground Contractors).
Part time orical.
Glenn began his career within his fathers landscaping business, moving into golf course green keeping he became head greenkeeper at a number of golf courses. Glenn's journey in green keeping took him to North America before returning back to the Uk. Prior to founding his Sportsground Contracting Business, Glenn had a long standing position in amenity sales and advisory roles.
